Principal Investigator​

Zhengshuo Lai, Associate Professor​

Zhengshuo Lai is an Associate Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 2018 and his B.E. in Transportation Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University in 2012. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (under the "Hong Kong Scholars Program"), and worked as a Research Intern at Idaho National Laboratory, USA. His research focuses on computational geomechanics, including finite element, discrete element, material point methods, random fields, computational fluid dynamics, and multiscale approaches, as well as advanced numerical algorithms and software development for process simulation and infrastructure disaster prevention. He has led multiple national and provincial research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China Young Scientists Fund and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation General Program, with significant contributions to multiscale modeling of granular media and discrete element methods for irregular particles.
