About
Group Overview
The Applied Process Analysis and Modeling Group (APAAM) is located at Sun Yat-sen University, dedicated to computational geomechanics and multiscale numerical simulation research. Our research spans multiple disciplines including computational mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and materials science.
Research Areas:
- Computational methods: FEM, DEM, MPM, etc.
- Random fields, computational fluid dynamics
- Multiscale simulation methods
- Advanced numerical algorithms and software development
Applied to numerical modeling, uncertainty quantification, and data-driven computation of complex multiphysical processes.
Recruitment and Collaboration
We are actively recruiting Master's students in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, and welcome PhD students or visiting scholars for joint research. Research topics include FEM/DEM/MPM numerical methods, multiscale simulation, and machine learning applications in geotechnical engineering.
- Students with interest in computational mechanics, programming, or numerical simulation are preferred
- Undergraduate students are also welcome to contact us for research training or thesis projects
- Collaborations with domestic and international researchers are welcome
If interested, please send an email to laizhengsh@mail.sysu.edu.cn with a brief introduction of your background and research interests.
