Dr. Zhengshou Lai joined the School of Civil Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University as an Associate Professor.

Dr. Zhengshou Lai officially joined the School of Civil Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University as an Associate Professor in March 2023. Prior to this, he received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, USA in 2018, conducted postdoctoral research at the School of Intelligent Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University from 2019 to 2021, and pursued joint postdoctoral research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Sun Yat-sen University under the Hong Kong Scholars Program from 2021 to 2023.

At the School of Civil Engineering, Dr. Lai continues his research in computational mechanics and multiscale simulation of granular materials, with research interests including discrete element methods, fluid-solid coupling multiscale simulation, and machine learning and data science. He is also a dual-appointed faculty member at the Research Center for Applied Mathematics, Hong Kong Advanced Research Institute.
