Research Content
The team conducted a numerical simulation study of ship-free-surface-particle multiphase flow using the KCS (KRISO Container Ship) standard hull model as the research object, based on the coupling of the Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) and the Discrete Element Method (DEM).
Using the Phynexis solver (interIBdem), the team simulated the motion response of the KCS hull model in a two-phase flow environment (water-air, surface tension coefficient 0.07 N/m), and introduced discrete particles through the DEM method to study the interaction between the ship and the particulate medium during navigation.
